The ISCAR 5620622 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from submicron grain carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, this tool delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds. It features a 0.4724-inch (12 mm) cutting diameter, a 0.9843-inch (25 mm) length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle on six spiral flutes. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. This end mill is installed and run by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon steels, and superalloys, corresponding to workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The straight cylindrical shank at 12 mm diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The regular-length geometry makes it appropriate for face milling, shoulder milling, and slotting operations where depth of cut does not exceed the stated length of cut. It is not center-cutting and is not intended for plunge entry.
Compatible with workpiece materials coded H (hardened steel), K (cast iron), M (stainless steel), P (steel), and S (superalloys/high-temp alloys). Straight cylindrical shank fits standard ER collet and side-lock toolholders accepting a 12 mm shank diameter.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Verify toolholder bore and collet size before mounting; confirm runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production cut. Always power down the spindle and engage an e-stop before changing tooling. Because this end mill is not center-cutting, do not program a direct plunge move — use a ramping or helical entry toolpath instead.
