The ISCAR 5607771 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-efficiency face and shoulder milling in steel and stainless steel applications. Cataloged under ANSI and ISO 13399 standards as HM390 TCKT 0703PCTR IC5400, this triangular insert features a positive rake geometry with a helical cutting edge style that reduces cutting forces and improves chip evacuation. The IC5400 grade carries a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding milling cuts. With three usable cutting edges per insert and a maximum depth of cut of 0.197 inches (5.00 mm), it is a cost-effective choice for production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary users of this insert.
This insert fits the ISCAR HM390-07 cutter series and is suited for milling steel and stainless steel workpieces in both roughing and semi-finishing operations. The PCTR chip breaker geometry promotes positive chip flow and smooth cutting action. The right-hand cutting orientation and screw-held mounting method are standard for HM390-style toolholders. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and ramping operations on machining centers in job shops and production facilities working with P- and M-class workpiece materials.
Designed for use with the ISCAR HM390-07 cutter series. Compatible cutter series designation is HM390-07 as specified by the manufacturer. Primary workpiece materials are Steel (ISO code P) and Stainless Steel (ISO code M).
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before seating the insert, ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping screw seat are clean and free of chips or debris. Secure the insert using the designated clamping screw and a calibrated torque driver; refer to the ISCAR toolholder documentation for the correct torque specification for the HM390 series. Inspect the insert for seating contact before resuming spindle operation.
