The ISCAR 5607678 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in high-feed face milling and shoulder milling operations. Carrying the HM390 TDKT 1505PDR IC330 designation, this triangular insert features a PVD-applied TiCN and TiN coating over a solid carbide substrate. The IC330 grade is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With 3 usable cutting edges, a positive rake geometry, and a helical cutting edge style, it delivers consistent chip control and reduced cutting forces across demanding material applications. Insert thickness measures 0.2300 inches with a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch nominal).
This insert belongs to the HELI3MILL series and is compatible with HM390-15 cutter bodies. It is suited for right-hand milling operations in ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (superalloys and titanium). Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing passes on machining centers and CNC milling machines in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments. The PDR chip breaker geometry supports productive cutting in these material groups. Installation and replacement are performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel following standard insert-indexing procedures.
Designed for use with HM390-15 series cutter bodies. Compatible ISO material application codes: P, M, and S. ANSI code HM390 TDKT 1505PDR IC330; ISO code HM390 TDKT 1505PDR. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle at a full stop and the machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key driver specified for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage or under-torquing. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert. Confirm correct insert orientation for right-hand cutting direction before resuming operation.
