The ISCAR 5607521 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. Carrying the ANSI designation IQ845 SYHU 0704ADT-N in grade IC810, this insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle and delivers eight usable cutting edges per insert. The AlTiCrN and TiN Sumotec PVD coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting zone. At 0.543 inches inscribed circle diameter and 0.165 inches thick, the insert is sized for the IQ845 DOVEIQMILL cutter series. A 1/32-inch corner radius and T-Land cutting edge style help manage chip formation and edge strength across a range of feed and depth conditions.
This insert is suited for milling steel and cast iron in both production and job-shop environments. The neutral hand geometry supports use in standard right-hand IQ845 cutter bodies. The ADTN chip breaker geometry is configured for negative rake cutting, making it appropriate for rigid setups on machining centers and CNC milling machines where consistent chip control across multiple edges is required. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.181 inches (4.60 mm), and the cutting edge effective length is 0.512 inches.
Designed for use with the ISCAR IQ845 DOVEIQMILL cutter series. Insert size code 0704 fits cutter pockets dimensioned for an inscribed circle in the 0.510 to 0.600 inch range and thickness in the 0.150 to 0.175 inch range.
Installation is performed by machining professionals using the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the insert screw per the cutter body specification. The spindle and machine must be powered down and the cutter body secured before changing inserts. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination affects edge runout and surface finish. Do not overtighten the clamping screw; follow the cutter body manufacturer torque guidelines.
