The ISCAR 5607506 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards, this insert carries the IC808 grade designation and features a multi-layer PVD coating classification — TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN — applied using Sumotec PVD technology. The triangular TDKT insert style provides three usable cutting edges with a positive rake geometry and a helical cutting edge style, which reduces cutting forces and improves chip evacuation. At 0.2300 inches thick with a 0.4490-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0315-inch corner radius, it suits precision finishing and semi-finishing operations across a broad range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. It is a right-hand cutting insert intended for use in the HELI3MILL series, specifically HM390-15 cutter bodies. The PDR chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across varying depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.3940 inches (13.00 mm). Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling in production and job-shop environments. The insert is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method, which is standard for this insert family.
Designed for use with HM390-15 series cutter bodies. The ANSI code for this insert is HM390 TDKT 1505PDR IC808 and the ISO code is HM390 TDKT 1505PDR. Confirm cutter body compatibility using these codes before ordering.
This insert is installed and replaced by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat and torque the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can crack the insert or damage the pocket seat. Inspect the insert pocket for wear, chips, or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
