The ISCAR 5607423 is a solid carbide milling insert in the HELI3MILL series, designed for high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. It carries the ANSI designation HM390 TDKT 1505PDR IC830 and features a triangular insert shape with three cutting edges and a positive rake geometry. The IC830 grade substrate is finished with an AlTiN and TiN PVD coating classified under ISCAR Sumotec PVD, offering strong wear resistance and heat tolerance. The insert measures 0.6580 inches in width and length and 0.2300 inches thick, with a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch). It is screw-held and right-hand oriented, suited for aggressive metal removal in demanding milling applications.
This insert is engineered for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. It fits the HM390-15 cutter series and is compatible with toolholders and cutter bodies in the HM390 family. The PDR chip breaker geometry supports reliable chip evacuation during interrupted and continuous cuts. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.5120 inches (13.00 mm), and the cutting edge effective length matches that same 0.5120-inch value. This insert is appropriate for CNC machining centers in both production and job-shop environments where tool life on difficult-to-machine alloys is a primary concern.
Designed for use with HM390-15 cutter series toolholders and cutter bodies. ANSI code HM390 TDKT 1505PDR IC830; ISO code HM390 TDKT 1505PDR. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Installation is performed by machining professionals on CNC milling equipment. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw — follow the cutter body manufacturer seat and screw specifications. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before mounting to ensure proper seating and runout control.
