The ISCAR 5607272 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation T290 LNHT 050202TR IC808. This double-sided, butterfly-profile insert is designed for use in ISCAR SUMOMILL T290 series milling cutters and is held in place by a screw-lock method. It carries a triple-layer Sumotec PVD coating of TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN applied for elevated wear resistance and heat tolerance at the cutting edge. The IC808 submicron carbide grade and T-Land cutting edge style make this insert well suited for interrupted cuts and challenging workpiece materials. It delivers two cutting edges per insert with a negative rake geometry and a 90-degree included angle. Installation and tooling management are handled by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is engineered for milling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. The TR chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at moderate to aggressive feeds. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.1970 inches (5.00 mm) and a cutting edge effective length of 0.2264 inches, it is appropriate for face milling and shoulder milling operations in both production and job-shop environments. Compatible with ISCAR T290 series cutter bodies requiring LNHT insert style geometry.

Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Use the appropriate ISCAR torx or hex key to seat the screw to the cutter body specification without over-torquing the insert pocket screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before placing a new insert. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid edge chipping prior to installation.
