The ISCAR 5606588 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation ADKT 1505PDTR-76 in manufacturer grade IC830. This single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert is designed for high-performance milling operations. It features an AlTiN and TiN dual-coating applied via PVD process under ISCARs Sumotec classification, providing heat resistance and extended tool life. The insert measures 0.622 inches in length, 0.376 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.222 inches in thickness, with a corner radius of 0.0394 inches. A positive rake geometry and T-Land cutting edge style help reduce cutting forces and improve chip flow during demanding milling cuts. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamping method.
This insert is intended for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, and S. It suits production and job-shop environments where a reliable, multi-use insert is required for face milling, shoulder milling, and helical interpolation applications. The right-hand cutting orientation and 85-degree included angle make it well suited for high-speed passes on ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys. The 76 chip breaker geometry manages chip evacuation across a range of feed rates and depths. Compatible cutter series include ETS, FTS, ADK, and E90 within the HELIMILL platform. This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician using the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a vise or tool holder fixture before changing inserts. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout. Follow the cutter manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw to avoid cracking the carbide body.
