The ISCAR 5606581 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation APKT 1003PDTR-76 IC830. It features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle and a right-hand cutting orientation. The insert is coated with an AlTiN and TiN multilayer finish applied via PVD under ISCAR's Sumotec classification, delivering thermal resistance and wear performance in demanding milling operations. Two cutting edges are available per insert. The 76 chip breaker geometry, combined with an 18-degree positive rake angle and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, promotes efficient chip formation and reduces cutting forces. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible HELIMILL and HM90-10 series cutter bodies.
This insert is designed for face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling of steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — material application codes P, M, and S. It fits ISCAR's HELIMILL series cutter bodies with the HM90-10 cutter series designation. Typical install scenarios include roughing and semi-finishing passes on machining centers in job shop and production environments. The single-sided insert seats via screw clamping. It conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards, making it compatible with tool management systems that reference those classification frameworks.
Designed for use with ISCAR HELIMILL series cutter bodies in the HM90-10 cutter series. Insert size code 1003 with ANSI code APKT 1003PDTR-76 IC830 and ISO code APKT 1003PDTR-76. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tool-room technicians. Ensure the cutter body is removed from the spindle and the machine is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified seating procedure when driving the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout control.
