The ISCAR 5606380 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert carrying the ANSI designation H600 WXCU 040310T IC830. It belongs to ISCARs HELI6FEED series and is engineered for high-feed milling applications in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The insert measures 0.2461 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.1220 inches thick, with a maximum depth of cut and cutting edge effective length of 0.1626 inches. Coating is AlTiN plus TiN applied via a PVD Sumotec process, delivering thermal resistance and edge toughness under aggressive feed conditions. The WXCU geometry features a negative rake angle with a T-Land cutting edge style and six usable cutting edges per insert.
This insert is designed for high-feed face and pocket milling in machining centers, mill-turn platforms, and similar CNC equipment. It targets difficult-to-machine workpiece materials including carbon and alloy steels, austenitic and martensitic stainless steels, nickel-based superalloys, and titanium alloys. The right-hand, double-sided configuration maximizes insert utilization. The T chip breaker geometry promotes chip control at elevated feed rates typical in roughing and semi-finishing passes on these materials. Installation is via screw-clamp clamping, compatible with EWX cutter bodies in the HELI6FEED series.
Designed for use with EWX cutter bodies in the ISCAR HELI6FEED series. Insert style WXCU with size code 040310 and screw-hold mounting must match the target cutter body pocket specification. Verify cutter body compatibility with the EWX designation before ordering.
This insert is installed by a machinist or tooling technician using the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw specified by the cutter body manufacturer. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing inserts. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert edge, as contamination causes premature edge failure. Follow the cutter body manufacturers torque specification for the clamping screw — do not estimate by feel.
