The ISCAR 5606365 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling in demanding metalworking applications. It carries the ANSI designation T490 LNHT 1306PN-R PL IC808 and belongs to ISCAR's HELITANG series. The insert features a butterfly (LNHT) shape with a helical cutting edge style, a negative rake angle, and a 90-degree included angle. Manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN stack via PVD (Sumotec PVD classification), it delivers wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. The IC808 grade is suited for both general and interrupted cutting conditions. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is intended for use in milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials — covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. It is a double-sided, right-hand insert with four usable cutting edges, making it cost-effective for high-volume production environments. The PL chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation across these material groups. It is designed for use with T490 LNK13 cutter series holders and is compatible with T490-platform tooling systems. The insert size code is 1306, placing it in the 0.25 to 0.30 inch inscribed circle range.
Designed for use with T490 LNK13 cutter series holders. Compatible with T490-platform milling systems. ANSI code T490 LNHT 1306PN-R-PL IC808; ISO code T490 LNHT 1306PN-R-PL. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
This insert is installed and replaced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to ensure proper seating — refer to the cutter body manufacturer's documentation for torque specifications. Inspect the insert pocket and screw threads for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
