The ISCAR 5606333 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer designation ONMU 050505-TN-MM in grade IC330. It is an octagonal, double-sided insert designed for use in indexable milling cutters within the HELIDO series. The insert features a TiCN and TiN PVD coating, a negative rake geometry with a T-Land cutting edge style, and delivers 16 usable cutting edges per insert. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.138 inches and a corner radius of 0.0197 inches, it is built for productive milling on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Installation is by screw-clamp holding method. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel (ISO material group P), stainless steel (group M), and superalloys and titanium (group S). It is compatible with HELIDO-series milling cutter bodies designated FF SOF, SOF45, and SOE45. Typical applications include face milling and shoulder milling in production and job-shop environments, on both horizontal and vertical machining centers. The neutral hand orientation makes it usable in a wide range of cutter body configurations. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.
Compatible with HELIDO-series cutter bodies FF SOF, SOF45, and SOE45 as stated by the manufacturer. Verify cutter body pocket specifications before ordering to confirm proper seating and screw engagement.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machining center spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key at the recommended clamp screw torque per the cutter body documentation - do not overtighten, as this can crack the insert or damage the pocket. Inspect the pocket seat and clamp screw threads for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
