The ISCAR 5606300 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation S845 SNHU 1305AN-N-W IC808, designed for use in high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. This double-sided, square-shaped insert features a helical cutting edge style with a negative rake angle and zero relief, generating four usable cutting edges per insert. The IC808 grade combines a submicron carbide substrate with a multilayer PVD Sumotec coating — TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN — built to maintain edge integrity under heat and mechanical stress. Thickness is 0.2320 inches and the inscribed circle measures 0.5118 inches. The W chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip flow across a broad range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It fits into the HELIDO series cutter platform and is compatible with SOE45 and SOF45 cutter bodies, making it a practical choice for both roughing and semi-finishing passes in general machining, aerospace, and heavy manufacturing environments. The neutral hand designation allows it to seat in either right- or left-hand tooling configurations without additional inventory. Maximum depth of cut is 3.00 mm (0.2360 inches). Insert holding is accomplished via screw-lock mounting.
Designed for use with ISCAR HELIDO series cutter bodies SOE45 and SOF45. ANSI code S845 SNHU 1305AN-N-W IC808; ISO code S845 SNHU 1305AN-N-W.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians using the screw-lock insert holding method — ensure the clamping screw is tightened to the torque specification listed in the cutter body documentation, not a generic value. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installation, as contamination will affect runout and edge life. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping cutting edges prior to use.
