The ISCAR 5606099 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation H490 ANKX 170608PNTR IC808, designed for use in the HELIDO series H490 ANK17 cutter platform. The insert is parallelogram-shaped with a negative rake geometry and a helical cutting edge style, providing four usable cutting edges per insert on a double-sided body. It is coated with a multilayer Sumotec PVD process applying TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN coatings in submicron carbide grade IC808. The inscribed circle measures 0.441 inches, thickness is 0.409 inches, and the maximum depth of cut reaches 0.63 inches. This insert is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production milling operations across metalworking environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It is a right-hand insert secured by screw clamping and fits the H490 ANK17 cutter series. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, debris, or wear before seating a new insert to maintain proper edge location and runout.
