The ISCAR 5606012 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation H490 ANCX 120508PDR IC808. It belongs to the HELIDO series and is designed for use in H490 ANK12 cutter bodies. The insert features a parallelogram shape (ANCX style) with a negative rake geometry and a helical cutting edge that promotes smooth chip flow and reduced cutting forces. A multilayer PVD coating — TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN — applied via the Sumotec PVD process provides heat resistance and wear life across demanding materials. With four usable cutting edges on a double-sided body, the insert delivers consistent performance and cost efficiency per edge. Thickness is 0.372 inches and inscribed circle diameter is 0.394 inches.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H, making it a versatile choice for job shops and production environments running mixed-material work. The PDR chip breaker geometry is optimized for helical milling paths. Maximum depth of cut is 0.394 inches (11.00 mm). The right-hand configuration makes it compatible with standard H490 tooling setups found in CNC machining centers used in aerospace, automotive, and general metal fabrication.
Designed for use with the H490 ANK12 cutter series. ANSI code H490 ANCX 120508PDR IC808; ISO code H490 ANCX 120508PDR. Compatible with right-hand H490 tooling platforms requiring insert size code 120508.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or damage before installing a new insert.
