The ISCAR 5605131 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal UNC threads in a single helical pass. It produces 5/8-11 threads with a cutting diameter of 0.449 inches and a length of cut of 1.14 inches, making it suited for through-hole and blind-hole applications where thread quality and tool life are critical. The TiAlN and TiN dual coating reduces heat buildup and extends wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Coolant-through capability channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, improving chip evacuation and surface finish in deep-thread operations. Machinists and CNC tooling specialists install this tool on machining centers equipped with appropriate thread milling software cycles.
This thread mill is used in precision machining environments including job shops, production machining, and aerospace or industrial component manufacturing. It is suited for CNC machining centers running helical interpolation cycles to generate internal 5/8-11 UNC threads. The right-hand flute direction and three-flute geometry support stable cutting in a range of workpiece materials. Its 3.5-inch overall length accommodates standard toolholding setups with a 1/2-inch shank diameter.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers capable of helical interpolation, cutting internal 5/8-11 UNC threads with a minimum nominal bore diameter of 0.625 inches.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified CNC machinists familiar with thread milling cycles and helical interpolation programming. Secure the 1/2-inch shank in a clean, properly torqued toolholder to minimize runout before use. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and helical pitch settings in the CAM or control program match the tool geometry before cutting. Enable coolant-through flow at the machining center prior to initiating the thread milling cycle.
