The ISCAR 5604816 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer designation HP ANKT 070216PNTR in grade IC908. It belongs to the HELIPLUS series and features a parallelogram (ANKT) insert shape with a negative rake geometry and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, targeting wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. Key dimensional figures include an inscribed circle of 0.177 inches, a thickness of 0.102 inches, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.303 inches. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the holding method is screw-on. The part is produced in a submicron carbide substrate suited for high-performance milling applications.
This insert is intended for use in milling cutters from the HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07 cutter series. It is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and helical ramping operations in production environments where consistent tool life and surface finish are required. The right-hand cutting configuration and PNTR chip breaker geometry support chip control in interrupted and continuous cuts on ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with ISCAR HELIPLUS cutter bodies in the HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07 series. Verify cutter body seat geometry and screw torque specification in the cutter body documentation before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the cutter body is secured or removed from the spindle before replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against all pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, wear, or damage each time inserts are indexed or replaced.
