The ISCAR 5604592 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining operations. Carrying the grade designation IC328 and a TiCN coating applied via PVD process, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium applications. It features a parallelogram (ANKT) insert shape with an 85-degree included angle, a negative rake geometry, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The PNTR chip breaker controls chip flow during milling. With two cutting edges per insert and a right-hand orientation, it is built for single-sided use on compatible HELIPLUS platform cutters.
This insert is engineered for use in the HELIPLUS milling platform and fits HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07 cutter series. Primary material applications include steel (P), stainless steel (M), and superalloys and titanium (S). Typical installation scenarios include face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills. The insert is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method. It is well suited for production shops and tool rooms running high-alloy steels and difficult-to-machine materials where consistent edge life and chip control are priorities.
Designed for use with ISCAR HELIPLUS cutter series HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07. Confirmed compatible cutter series designations are HP ANK-07 and HP.90-07 as specified by the manufacturer. ANSI code HP ANKT 0702PNTR IC328 and ISO code HP ANKT 0702PNTR apply for cross-reference.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians using a torx or hex key driver to secure the screw-clamp holding method per the cutter body manufacturer specifications. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Follow the cutter body torque guidelines provided by ISCAR for the specific cutter model in use.
