The ISCAR 5604231 is a round solid carbide milling insert carrying the RCMW 1607M0 geometry designation and IC908 manufacturer grade. Part of the ISCAR MILLSHRED series, this single-sided insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process over a submicron carbide substrate. It delivers 8 cutting edges per insert, a positive rake geometry, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The inscribed circle measures 0.6299 inches with a thickness of 0.1970 inches. Neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for a range of milling cutter orientations. This insert is held in the cutter body by screw clamping.
This insert is designed for milling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries primary material codes P, M, K, S, and H, with secondary codes H and S. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.3150 inches, and the effective cutting edge length is 0.6299 inches. Cutter series compatibility is listed as FRW. Typical install scenarios include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling operations in production machining environments. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Compatible with ISCAR FRW series milling cutter bodies. Conforms to ANSI standard designation RCMW 1607MO IC908 and ISO 13399. Insert size code 1607 with inscribed circle range of 0.6000 to 0.7000 inches.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians using screw clamping in a compatible FRW series cutter body. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and verify the seating surface is clean and free of chips or debris before torquing the clamping screw. Refer to the cutter body manufacturer specifications for correct clamping screw torque values.
