The ISCAR 5604055 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in HELIPLUS series helical milling cutters. It carries the ANSI and ISO designation HP ADCT 2207PDR in grade IC908, a submicron carbide grade with a TiAlN PVD coating applied for extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The insert features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a PDR chip breaker configuration. With 2 cutting edges, a honed cutting edge style, and a right-hand orientation, this insert is built for productive face and helical milling operations. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians using standard screw-clamping insert toolholders.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials across production and job-shop environments. The IC908 grade with PVD TiAlN coating is engineered to handle both ISO P and M material groups as primary applications, with ISO K, S, and H materials as additional capability. It is appropriate for use in both conventional and high-feed milling setups where positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces. The HM90-15 cutter series compatibility makes it a direct fit for specific ISCAR tooling platforms in production machining cells.
Designed for use with the ISCAR HELIPLUS HM90-15 cutter series. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards with ANSI code HP ADCT 2207PDR IC908.
This insert is installed and indexed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle completely before removing or indexing any insert. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw to proper engagement — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before indexing to a fresh cutting edge.
