The ISCAR 5603729 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying manufacturer part number QPMT 100408PDTN-M in grade IC328. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert with a 90-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a neutral hand orientation. The PVD-applied TiCN coating and T-Land cutting edge style are engineered for productive milling in steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. With a positive rake geometry and M-style chip breaker, the insert promotes controlled chip flow and reduced cutting forces. It belongs to the QUAD2000 series and is held in the cutter body by a screw. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in precision milling applications where tool life and surface finish in difficult materials are priorities.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed applications in both production and job-shop environments. It targets steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), and superalloys and titanium (ISO S) workpiece materials, making it a practical choice across aerospace, energy, and general machining operations. The QUAD2000 series design allows use at a 90-degree lead angle, supporting true shoulder milling. Compatible cutter series include FDN, FSB, FST, SDN, SSB, SPK, F90SP, and E90SP. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Designed for use with ISCAR QUAD2000 series cutter bodies in the following cutter series: FDN, FSB, FST, SDN, SSB, SPK, F90SP, and E90SP. Confirmed compatible workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and superalloys and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, and S).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the cutter body is secured or removed from the spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to tighten the insert clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper insert support and runout.
