The ISCAR 5601892 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation ADKT 1505PDTR-RM in the IC950 grade. It features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle, a right-hand cutting orientation, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The TiAlN coating is applied via PVD process, delivering wear resistance in steel and cast iron applications. The insert measures 0.622 inches in length, 0.376 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.222 inches thick, with a 0.0394-inch corner radius. It belongs to the HELIMILL series and is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on milling machines requiring precision indexable tooling.
This insert is intended for face milling, shoulder milling, and general metal removal operations in steel and cast iron workpieces, covering material grades C1, C2, C3, C5, and C6. The positive rake geometry and RM chip breaker promote free-cutting action and effective chip control. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.472 inches (12.00 mm), and the cutting edge effective length is 0.547 inches. It is suited for both production floor and job shop environments where consistent insert performance across multiple passes is required. The insert is screw-held and single-sided with two cutting edges per insert.
Designed for use in ISCAR HELIMILL cutter bodies within the ETS, FTS, ADK, and E90 series that accept ADKT 1505 style inserts. Verify pocket geometry and screw specification against the cutter body documentation before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver and cutter-body-specified screw to seat the insert fully in the pocket without over-torquing. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or damage before installing a fresh insert to ensure accurate edge positioning.
