The ISCAR 5601745 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation APKT 100320PDTR-RM in grade IC328. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram-style insert with a positive rake geometry, designed for use in indexable milling applications. The TiCN coating is applied via a PVD process, providing wear resistance suited to interrupted cuts and heat-sensitive workpiece materials. With a 0.3620-inch maximum depth of cut, an 0.0787-inch corner radius, and chamfered plus honed cutting edges, this insert is engineered for productive face and shoulder milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method and seats in the HM90-10 cutter series.
This insert is intended for use in the ISCAR HELIMILL HM90-10 cutter series and is applied in face milling, shoulder milling, and ramping operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. It carries material grade classifications C2, C3, C5, and C6, making it suitable for a broad range of cutting conditions encountered in production machining environments. The right-hand geometry and RM chip breaker design suit typical climb-milling strategies on CNC machining centers. Both ANSI and ISO 13399 standards are met.
Designed for use in the ISCAR HELIMILL HM90-10 cutter series. Compatible insert seat style is APKT with a screw-clamp insert holding method. Cutter series compatibility code: HM90-10.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the milling cutter body is removed from the spindle or the machine is locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the cutter manufacturer's specified seat-screw torque range as listed in the ISCAR toolholder documentation for the HM90-10 series. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert to avoid insert rocking or premature edge failure.
