The ISCAR 5601257 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XOMT 060204-HQ in manufacturer grade IC328. It is a single-sided, square-shaped insert with a positive rake geometry and a helical cutting edge profile, part of ISCAR's HELIQUAD series. The insert is coated with TiCN via a PVD process, which delivers a hard, wear-resistant surface suited for demanding cutting conditions. With four usable cutting edges and a corner radius of 0.0157 inches (1/64 inch), it provides consistent performance across setups. Thickness measures 0.1010 inches and the inscribed circle diameter is 0.2430 inches. The insert is held in place by screw clamping and is designed for use by machinists and CNC tool setup technicians.
This insert is intended for milling applications in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to material grade classifications C2, C3, C5, and C6, and ISO material codes P, M, and S. The helical cutting edge style reduces cutting forces and vibration, making it well suited for shoulder milling, face milling, and ramping operations in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It is appropriate for production environments running high-speed CNC milling centers where tool life and surface finish consistency are priorities.
Compatible with the following ISCAR cutter series as stated by the manufacturer: ETS, FDN-CF4, FDN, SDN, E45X, and E90X. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. ANSI code: XOMT 060204-HQ IC328. ISO code: XOMT 060204-HQ.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the insert using the appropriate screw and torx key specified for the cutter body being used, following the cutter manufacturer's fastener guidance. Ensure the pocket seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Index or replace the insert when visible wear, chipping, or a decline in surface finish quality is observed.
