The ISCAR 5601218 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation SEKR 1203AFN-76 and manufacturer grade IC328. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert with a neutral hand orientation and a 90-degree included angle. The insert measures 0.5000 inches in length and width, with a nominal thickness of 0.1250 inches and an inscribed circle of 0.5000 inches. A TiCN coating applied via PVD process provides wear resistance across demanding cutting applications. With four cutting edges and a positive rake geometry, this insert is suited for productive milling passes on a range of metallic workpieces. Licensed HVAC and machine-tool professionals install and index these inserts during scheduled tooling maintenance.
This insert is designed for use in the ISCARMILL F45E cutter series and targets primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and S. The 76 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during milling operations. A maximum depth of cut of 0.2560 inches (6.50 mm) and a cutting edge effective length of 0.5000 inches make it appropriate for medium-depth face and shoulder milling in both production and maintenance machining environments. The clamp-type insert holding method is standard for toolholders in this series.
Designed for use in the ISCARMILL F45E cutter series. ANSI equivalent designation is SEKR 42AFN-76 IC328. Compliant with ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Material grade classifications C2, C3, C5, and C6 apply.
Indexing and replacement of milling inserts is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Disengage the spindle and ensure the machine is in a locked-out, de-energized state before handling inserts or clamping hardware. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to release and re-torque the clamp screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
