The ISCAR 5600496 is a solid carbide milling insert identified by ISO code SEKR 1203AFTR-HS in grade IC50M. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert with a 90-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a right-hand orientation. The uncoated bright finish and T-Land cutting edge style make it well suited for positive-rake milling operations in steel and stainless steel applications. The insert measures 0.5 inches in inscribed circle diameter, 0.5 inches in length and width, and 0.125 inches in thickness, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.256 inches. It is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals using a clamp-style holding method.
This insert is designed for use in face milling and shoulder milling applications on ferrous workpiece materials, specifically carbon steel and stainless steel. It belongs to the ISCARMILL series and is compatible with the F45E cutter series. The HS chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during aggressive or finishing passes on steel components in production machining environments. It is packaged individually and sold in a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with the ISCAR F45E cutter series as part of the ISCARMILL platform. ANSI code SEKR 42AFTR-HS IC50M and ISO code SEKR 1203AFTR-HS; conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Primary material application is steel and stainless steel (ISO material groups P and M).
This insert is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a compatible F45E cutter body using the specified clamp-style holding method. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool assembly secured in a vise or fixture before insert removal or installation. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Follow the cutter body manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw.
