The ISCAR 5600124 is a single-sided square milling insert carrying ISCAR grade IC520M with a CVD-applied TiCN coating. It is designed for use in indexable milling cutters and delivers four cutting edges per insert. The insert measures 3/8 inch in inscribed circle diameter, 0.375 inches in width and length, and 0.125 inches in thickness. With a positive rake geometry and a T-Land cutting edge style, it is built for productive face and shoulder milling applications. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians install these inserts in compatible milling cutter bodies as part of routine insert indexing and replacement.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron — ISO material groups P, M, and K. It fits the ISCAR ISCARMILL series and is specifically listed for cutter series compatibility E45. Maximum depth of cut is 0.22 inches (5.60 mm). The neutral hand orientation allows use in both conventional and climb milling setups without handedness restrictions. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose material removal in production and job-shop environments across light industrial and heavy manufacturing settings.
Compatible with ISCAR ISCARMILL series cutter bodies, specifically listed for cutter series E45. Insert style SDMT with a 90-degree included angle. Verify cutter body pocket specifications against insert dimensions before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the cutter body manufacturer — do not over-torque or substitute fasteners. Inspect the pocket seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination causes premature edge failure and poor surface finish. Follow the cutter manufacturer's indexing sequence when replacing multiple inserts to maintain balance.
