The ISCAR 5597365 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert carrying manufacturer grade IC07 and ANSI code CNGG432 (ISO: CNGG120408). It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a 0.80 mm (0.0315 inch) corner radius and a negative side clearance with positive rake geometry. The PP chip breaker is designed for roughing and medium machining operations. The inscribed circle measures 0.5000 inches and the maximum depth of cut is 4.00 mm (0.157 inches). This insert is suited for turning applications on stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and special or super alloys, where high wear resistance combined with moderate toughness is required.
The ISCAR 5597365 belongs to the Isoturn series and is applied in external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It is appropriate for industrial machining environments where consistent chip control across roughing and medium-cut passes is essential. The IC07 grade targets workpiece materials classified under ISO P, M, N, S, and H material groups, making it a versatile choice for shops handling a range of metal types. Machinists working with stainless steel, aluminum alloys, titanium, and heat-resistant super alloys will find this grade compatible with their material removal requirements.
Designed as an OEM-compatible replacement or direct-use turning insert for toolholders accepting CNGG-style inserts with ANSI size code 432 and ISO size code 120408. Confirm toolholder pocket geometry and clamping style before installation.
Turning inserts of this type are installed and changed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex wrench specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert seat and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
