The ISCAR 5595149 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG 432-NF geometry, part of the Isoturn series. It features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding turning operations. The 80-degree diamond insert shape (Shape Code C) provides a strong cutting edge suited for general turning and profiling. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch insert thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert is sized for medium-duty applications. The IC907 grade targets interrupted cuts and difficult-to-machine materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments install this insert as a standard tooling consumable.
This insert is designed for use in external and internal turning operations across a range of workpiece materials. The primary workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steels, general steels, non-ferrous materials, and superalloys. The NF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing passes. Maximum depth of cut is 3.50 mm (0.1378 inches). The Isoturn series is a common platform in CNC lathe tooling setups requiring repeatable insert indexing and consistent surface finish results.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CNMG 432 toolholders within the ISCAR Isoturn series. Compatible toolholders must accept CNMG insert style with clamp and pin holding, a 0.2030-inch hole diameter, and a 0.5-inch inscribed circle. Verify toolholder specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by machining professionals familiar with CNC lathe tooling and insert indexing procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not use improvised tools that could damage the seating pocket or clamp. Inspect the insert pocket for debris, damage, or wear before seating a new insert.
