The ISCAR 5595131 is a DCMT-style solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the IC907 manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating that supports high cutting speeds and extended tool life in demanding applications. The insert has a 55-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle (0.3748 inches), a 1/32-inch corner radius (0.0315 inches), and an insert thickness of 5/32 inches (0.1563 inches). The PF chip breaker geometry promotes positive rake cutting with controlled chip formation. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible DCMT toolholders.
This insert is suited for turning operations on a broad range of workpiece materials including steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous materials (N), hardened materials (H), and superalloys (S) as indicated by the primary workpiece material codes. It fits into the Isoturn series toolholder system and is applicable in both roughing and finishing passes where a 55-degree diamond geometry is specified. The maximum depth of cut is 0.1180 inches, making it well matched to light-to-medium stock removal scenarios.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for DCMT-style toolholders within the ISCAR Isoturn series. Confirm holder compatibility using the DCMT insert style code and the 3/8-inch inscribed circle dimension before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and all axes at a safe home position. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage or insert cracking. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and toolholder manufacturer guidelines when indexing or replacing carbide inserts.
