The ISCAR 5595021 is an RCMT-style round profiling and turning insert manufactured from submicron carbide and coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process under the IC907 manufacturer grade. The insert features a 0.4728-inch inscribed circle, a thickness of 0.1875 inches, and a corner radius of 0.2362 inches. With four usable cutting edges, a neutral hand orientation, and a positive rake geometry, it delivers consistent material removal across a broad range of workpiece materials. It is held in place by a clamp and pin system and belongs to ISCAR's Isoturn RCMT series.
This insert is suited for profiling and turning operations in both light and demanding applications. The IC907 grade with PVD TiAlN and TiN coating targets universal workpiece materials, covering ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as heat-resistant and hardened alloys. A maximum depth of cut of 0.2364 inches makes it appropriate for moderate stock removal and finish profiling passes. Typical users include CNC lathe operators and machining centers in job shops, production turning cells, and tool rooms handling mixed-material work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for RCMT 1204M0-style toolholders. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO classification, covering cast iron, non-ferrous, stainless steel, non-metals, steel, and heat-resistant superalloys. Conforms to ISO 13399 and the RCMT 1204M0-14 standard.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before indexing or replacing inserts. Verify the toolholder seat and clamping components are clean and free of debris before seating the insert. Use the appropriate torx or clamping wrench specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not over-tighten the clamp screw. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for the pin and clamp fasteners.
