The ISCAR 5594309 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the TPGX730L geometry, part of the Isoturn series. This triangular insert features a 60-degree included angle, an 11-degree relief angle, and a left-hand cutting direction. With a 0.2189-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0079-inch corner radius, it is engineered for precision turning applications where tight tolerances and sharp edges are required. Screw-held mounting and a Grade IC20 solid carbide substrate make this insert well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers.
This insert is designed for use in CNC and manual turning operations targeting workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, and S, which include hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys. The TPGX730L geometry and IC20 uncoated grade are particularly appropriate for applications requiring a sharp cutting edge and minimal built-up edge, such as finishing aluminum, copper alloys, and non-metallic materials. Maximum depth of cut is 0.0787 inch (2.00 mm). The left-hand chip breaker designation suits specific toolholder orientations; confirm toolholder hand before ordering.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for Isoturn series toolholders accepting TPGX-style triangular inserts with a 3.00 mm (0.1181-inch) mounting hole diameter. Confirm toolholder hand orientation and insert pocket geometry before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque wrench and clamping screw to seat the insert; do not over-tighten freehand. Verify insert seating and toolholder clearance before resuming cutting operations.
