The ISCAR 5592414 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG 330-NF geometry, part of the Isoturn series. It carries a dual-layer PVD coating of TiN and TiAlN under the IC907 manufacturer grade, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 11.63 mm (0.458 inches) in length with a 3/8-inch (0.375-inch) inscribed circle and a 0.008-inch corner radius. The 55-degree diamond shape (code D) with a neutral clearance angle and positive rake geometry makes this insert well suited for precise, controlled turning and boring operations. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers.
This insert is designed for universal application across multiple material groups, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, general steels, and heat-resistant superalloys, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is used in both external turning and boring applications, making it a multi-use option on CNC lathes and turning centers in production and job-shop environments. The NF chip breaker geometry is suited for finishing operations where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. The maximum depth of cut is 2.49 mm (0.098 inches).
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard interchangeable insert for DNMG-style toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 55-degree diamond insert with clamp or pin holding methods. Specific toolholder compatibility should be verified against the toolholder manufacturer's insert specification chart.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and all motion axes locked before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench or clamp screw driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamp or pin — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert seat and chip pocket for debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and repeatable tool height.
