The ISCAR 5592316 is a CNMG432PP indexable turning insert from the Isoturn series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating for enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The 80-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code C) delivers a strong cutting geometry with a positive rake angle and a 0-degree relief angle (Clearance Code N). With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert handles a maximum depth of cut of 0.157 inches (3.99 mm). It is held by clamp and pin and carries ISO 13399 compliance. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production turning environments are the primary users.
This insert is suited for turning and boring applications in both residential-scale job shops and high-volume production facilities. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron (ISO material code K) and steel (ISO material code P), making it appropriate for general-purpose turning, finishing, and semi-finishing passes. The PP chip breaker geometry is designed to manage chip flow effectively during these operations. The insert is cataloged under ISCAR ISO code CNMG 432-PP and is listed as a multi-use tool approved for boring applications as well as standard external turning.
Designed for use in standard CNMG-style toolholders accepting a 432 insert size. Compatible with turning and boring applications on cast iron and steel workpieces. Verified for use within the ISCAR Isoturn series toolholder platform per manufacturer catalog designation CNMG 432-PP.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
