The ISCAR 5569358 is a CNMG643-M3M indexable turning insert in ISCAR grade IC807, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a negative side clearance and a positive rake geometry, combining rigidity with free-cutting action. The IC807 carbide substrate carries a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN multilayer coating with ISCAR SumoTec surface treatment, delivering high wear resistance across a range of cutting conditions. The M3M chip breaker geometry supports both roughing and medium machining passes. The insert measures 19.34 mm in length with a 19.05 mm inscribed circle and a 1.2 mm corner radius.
This insert is suited for right-hand turning applications in ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (superalloys and special materials). The IC807 grade is characterized by high to moderate wear resistance combined with adequate toughness, making it appropriate for interrupted cuts, scale, and variable stock conditions in production turning environments. Machinists and CNC operators use this insert for finishing and semi-roughing passes where extended tool life and consistent chip control are priorities. The M3M chip breaker handles maximum depths of cut up to 10.00 mm.
Designed for use in CNMG-style indexable turning toolholders with a negative rake seat accepting the 643 insert size, as specified by ISO toolholder designations. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clamping style before installation.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician with the machine fully stopped and in a safe state. Use the appropriate torque wrench and seating tool specified by the toolholder manufacturer when clamping the insert to avoid seat damage. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to prevent edge chipping prior to use.
