The ISCAR 5569183 is a solid carbide indexable turning insert in the CNMG432M3M geometry, designed for precision metal turning on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the IC804 manufacturer grade with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating applied via PVD process, delivering strong wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape (C-type) with a positive rake configuration and the M3M chip breaker, which promotes controlled chip formation during interrupted and continuous cuts. Corner radius is 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm). This insert is sized at code 432 with a maximum depth of cut of 0.1970 inches (5.00 mm).
This insert is engineered primarily for machining stainless steel (ISO workpiece material code S), consistent with its IC804 grade and PVD-AlTiN coating selection. It fits into the Isoturn series toolholders that accept CNMG-style inserts. Typical applications include external turning, facing, and profiling operations on stainless steel workpieces in production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, medical, food processing, and general manufacturing will encounter this insert in daily turning operations.
Designed for use with Isoturn series toolholders accepting CNMG432 insert style with N clearance and M tolerance class. Verify toolholder seat geometry and clamping system before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures applied. Seat the insert firmly in the toolholder pocket and torque the clamping screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination will affect insert position and surface finish. Never attempt to re-sharpen indexable carbide inserts; rotate to an unused cutting edge or replace when wear is observed.
