The ISCAR 5568611 is a solid carbide turning insert in the VCGT130304-PF geometry, part of the Isoturn series. It features a 35-degree diamond shape (V code) with a positive rake angle and a C clearance code, making it suited for light to medium turning operations. The insert carries a multilayer PVD coating — TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN — under ISCAR's SumoTec proprietary coating process, which improves wear resistance and edge stability at elevated cutting temperatures. The manufacturer grade is IC830. Insert length is 13.00 mm (0.512 inches), inscribed circle is 7.94 mm (0.313 inches), and corner radius is 0.40 mm (0.016 inches). Installed by machinists and CNC operators in production turning applications.
This insert is intended for turning applications on workpiece materials classified under ISO material codes M (stainless steel), P (steel), and S (superalloys and high-temperature alloys). It is well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where a sharp, positive-rake geometry with a tight tolerance (G tolerance code) is required. The PF chip breaker geometry is designed to control chip flow during these lighter cutting conditions. Maximum depth of cut is 3.00 mm (0.118 inches). Typical use is in CNC turning centers and manual lathes running appropriate surface speeds for the IC830 grade.
Designed for use in toolholders accepting VCGT-style inserts with a 3.40 mm hole diameter (0.134 inches) and conforming to the Isoturn series insert pocket geometry. Compatible with ISO material groups M, P, and S workpiece materials as specified by the manufacturer.
This insert is seated and clamped by a licensed machinist or toolroom technician following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut or feed rates specified in the ISCAR Isoturn grade application guide for IC830.
