The ISCAR 5568344 is a carbide replaceable tip drill from the ICP series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in metal cutting applications. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide in the IC908 submicron grade and features a TiAlN/TiN PVD coating for heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The drill point is ground to a 140-degree included angle with web thinning and a honed cutting edge to reduce entry force and improve centering. With a cutting diameter of 1.13 inches and a slow spiral, two-flute geometry, this tool is suited to demanding production drilling where consistent hole quality and tool life are priorities. Licensed machinists, tooling engineers, and CNC operators are the primary installers and users.
The ICP1130 tip in IC908 grade is optimized for drilling steel as its primary workpiece material, per ISO material group P. Secondary applications cover stainless steel (group M), cast iron (group K), super-alloys and titanium (group S), and hard materials (group H). The replaceable tip design mounts into an ICP series insert seat size 28 body via a twist-lock holding method, allowing tip changes without removing the shank body from the spindle. This configuration is common in CNC machining centers and turning centers running repeat production runs on ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with ISCAR ICP series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 28. The ISO number for this tip is ICP 287. Verify seat size and series compatibility with the drill body before ordering.
Tip installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the machine tool builder lockout and energy isolation procedures before any manual spindle access. Use the correct ISCAR torque key for the twist-lock seat to ensure full seating without over-torquing the carbide tip. Inspect the insert seat bore and contact surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new tip, as contamination will affect runout and tool life. Coolant-through capability is not available on this tip; ensure coolant delivery is compatible with external flood or mist configurations used in the application.
