The ISCAR 5568183 is a carbide replaceable tip drill from the FCP series, designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. The cutting tip is manufactured from solid carbide in the IC908 submicron grade and finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating for extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The drill features a 0.882 inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree included point angle, a thinned web point geometry, and a slow spiral flute configuration. It measures 0.350 inches in height and carries an insert seat size designation of 22. This tool is typically installed and changed by machinists or tooling setters on CNC drilling or machining center setups.
The FCP 5568183 is intended for drilling operations in steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, classified under ISO material groups P and K. Secondary workpiece material coverage includes stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO groups M, S, and H. The flat-bottom style and thinned web point make it well suited to applications where clean entry geometry and reduced thrust force are required. It is sold individually and carries an ISO 13399 tool data standard designation of FCP 224.
Designed as a replaceable tip for FCP series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 22. Compatible with workpiece materials in ISO groups P, K, M, S, and H, including steel, cast iron, stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. Conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards.
Installation of replaceable carbide drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating the tip. Use the manufacturer-specified torque tool and seating method for the FCP twist-lock holding mechanism — do not use impact tools or substitute drivers. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or damage before seating a new tip to ensure proper contact and runout.
