The ISCAR 5568154 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the FCP series, designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. The tip features a solid carbide construction with a TiAlN PVD coating and a two-flute slow spiral geometry. The cutting diameter measures 0.732 inches, with a drill point angle of 140 degrees and a web-thinned, flat-bottom tip style. The insert seat size is 18, and the tip is held by a twist-locking method. This type of insert is installed and serviced by machinists and CNC tooling technicians working on production drilling operations.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for drilling operations in steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The FCP series is commonly used in CNC machining centers and drill presses where repeatable hole geometry and tool-change efficiency are priorities. The IC908 grade uses a submicron carbide substrate processed via PVD coating, making it well matched to interrupted cuts and abrasive workpiece materials. The tip conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Designed as a replaceable tip for FCP series drill bodies with insert seat size 18, compatible with holders engineered to the ISO 13399 FCP 186 insert specification. Verify drill body seat size and series before ordering.
Replaceable carbide drill tips of this type are installed and removed by machinists using the appropriate torque key supplied with the drill body system — always consult the drill body manufacturer guidelines for seat engagement and clamping procedure. Power down and lock out the spindle before tip replacement. Inspect the insert seat for chips, debris, or wear before seating a new tip, as a damaged seat will compromise hole accuracy and tip retention. Handle carbide tips carefully to avoid edge chipping prior to installation.
