The ISCAR 5568134 is a carbide replaceable tip drill designed for high-productivity hole-making in ferrous and hard materials. Built to the FCP series platform, this tip features a 0.654-inch cutting diameter and a 140-degree drill point angle with a thinned web geometry that reduces thrust forces at entry. The IC908 submicron carbide grade is coated via PVD with a TiAlN finish, delivering heat resistance and edge retention during aggressive drilling cycles. At 0.248 inches in height, the tip is engineered as a compact, indexable insert that mounts into a compatible FCP series holder using a twist-lock method. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tip as a field-replaceable component on production floors and job shops.
This tip is suited for drilling into steel, cast iron, stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, K, M, S, and H. The slow-spiral, two-flute geometry and flat-bottom point style make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole operations where entry stability and chip evacuation are priorities. It follows ISO 13399 standards, making it compatible with tool-management software used in modern CNC turning and machining centers. Coolant-through capability is not included in this tip design, so external or directed coolant strategies should be accounted for during process planning.
Designed for use with ISCAR FCP series replaceable tip drill holders accepting insert seat size 16. Refer to the ISCAR FCP series holder selection guide to confirm holder-to-tip fit before ordering.
Replaceable tip drills are installed and serviced by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom personnel. Before tip replacement, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per shop safety protocols. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to engage the twist-lock seat; do not exceed the holding method design by applying additional leverage tools. Verify tip seating and runout with a dial indicator before resuming cutting operations.
