The ISCAR 5568115 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill insert in the FCP series, designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial applications. This tip features a 35/64 inch (0.5470 inch decimal) cutting diameter, a 140-degree included drill point angle, and a TiAlN PVD coating that provides heat and wear resistance during high-speed cutting operations. The two-flute slow spiral geometry with a web-thinned, flat-bottom point style reduces entry forces and supports accurate hole location. Manufactured to IC908 grade submicron carbide, this insert is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in metal removal applications.
The 5568115 tip is engineered primarily for drilling steel and cast iron, and is rated for secondary use in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The flat-bottom geometry makes it well suited for applications requiring a square-bottomed hole or drilling into angled or interrupted surfaces. Insert geometry code P and seat size 13 match the FCP series drill body platform. This tip follows ISO 13399 standards, supporting integration with CAM and tooling management systems used in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with ISCAR FCP series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting insert seat size 13 and insert geometry P. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K). Secondary compatible materials include stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes M, S, and H). ISO number FCP 139 applies.
Installation of replaceable tip drill inserts should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with indexable tooling systems. Ensure the drill body and insert seating surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip. Secure the insert using the twist-locking method per the FCP series body instructions, and verify the tip is fully seated before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material and drill body size.
