The ISCAR 5568082 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the FCP series, designed for high-productivity drilling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The drill tip carries the IC908 submicron solid carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability under demanding cutting conditions. The cutting diameter is 0.386 inches (9.8 mm) and the tip height is 0.165 inches (4.19 mm). The 140-degree included angle with a thinned web point reduces entry thrust and improves centering. Two slow-spiral flutes support chip evacuation in the steel and cast iron applications where this drill is most commonly used. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and metalworking shops will recognize the FCP platform as a precision replaceable-tip system conforming to ISO 13399 standards.
This drill tip is suited for production drilling operations in steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The flat-bottom style and thinned point geometry make it a practical choice for shallow-hole and flat-bottomed bore applications. The IC908 grade performs well in ISO material groups P, K, M, S, and H. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC drilling and milling centers where replaceable-tip tooling systems reduce changeover time and maintain repeatable hole geometry without re-machining the shank body.
Designed for use with ISCAR FCP series replaceable-tip drill shanks accepting insert seat size 9 and ISO number FCP 098. No additional compatible shank model numbers were specified in the available product data.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians using the twist-lock seating method specific to the FCP platform. Ensure the shank pocket and tip seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before engaging the tip. Power down the machine spindle completely before tip removal or installation. Do not exceed the torque or speed parameters specified by ISCAR for the FCP shank body being used.
