The ISCAR 5568051 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the HCP-IQ series, designed for precision hole making in demanding metalworking applications. The cutting tip is manufactured from submicron solid carbide in ISCAR grade IC908 and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process. The cutting diameter measures 0.9377 inches (23.82 mm), with a tip height of 0.525 inches (13.33 mm) and a flute length of 8 mm. The 138-degree self-centering drill point and helical flute geometry promote accurate entry and efficient chip evacuation. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in CNC drilling operations.
The HCP-IQ series replaceable tip drill is suited for hole making, chamfering, and general drilling operations in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The insert geometry is classified as P with an insert seat size of 23, conforming to ISO 13399 standards. It is a two-flute, regular spiral design with a web-thinned point, making it well-suited for medium-depth holes in both ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials across production machining environments.
Designed for use with HCP-IQ series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 23. ISO number HCP 238-IQ. Compatible workpiece materials include steel (P), cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H) per ISO material classification codes.
Replaceable tip drills of this type are seated and clamped using the manufacturer-specified insert clamping method — secure the tip fully before beginning any cut. Ensure the drill body and spindle interface are clean and free of chips or debris before tip installation. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate based on workpiece material and hole depth. Do not exceed the rated cutting parameters for the IC908 grade, particularly when machining superalloys or hardened steels.
