The ISCAR 5568023 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the HCP-IQ series, designed for high-productivity drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. The drill tip features an IC908 submicron solid carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, which supports extended tool life in abrasive and thermally aggressive cutting conditions. With a cutting diameter of 0.791 inches (20.1 mm) and a functional length of 0.267 inches, this self-centering, web-thinned tip mounts via a twist-lock interface into compatible HCP-IQ series drill bodies. The 136-degree drill point angle and slow spiral, two-flute geometry are matched to steel and cast iron applications. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians on turning centers, machining centers, and drill presses.
The 5568023 tip is suited for primary use in steel and cast iron workpieces, with secondary capability in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. Typical installations include deep-hole drilling cycles on CNC machining centers where replaceable-tip drills reduce downtime versus regrinding solid drills. The self-centering point style reduces the need for a spot drill in many setups. This tip does not require coolant-through capability in the drill body, making it compatible with standard non-coolant-through HCP-IQ holders.
Designed for use with ISCAR HCP-IQ series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting an insert seat size 20, ISO number HCP 201-IQ. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials per ISO material codes P, K, M, S, and H.
Installation and tip changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a de-energized, locked-out state per facility LOTO procedures. Use the appropriate ISCAR torque key for the twist-lock interface — do not use substitute tools that may damage the seat or tip shank. Inspect the drill body seat for chips or wear before seating a new tip. Verify runout after assembly per shop tolerance standards before beginning a production cycle.
