The ISCAR 5567959 is a replaceable carbide drill tip from the HCP-IQ series, designed for indexable drill bodies used in precision hole-making operations. The tip measures 0.5040 inches (13.00 mm) cutting diameter and features a 135-degree self-centering point angle with a two-flute helical configuration. It is manufactured from submicron solid carbide and carries an IC908 grade designation with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. This combination delivers thermal resistance and edge stability in demanding metal-cutting environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die specialists, and CNC operators working in production machining shops are the primary installers and users of this tip.
The ISCAR 5567959 is suited for hole-making, chamfering, and drilling operations in metalworking applications. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO material code P) and cast iron (ISO material code K). Secondary applications include stainless steel (M), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H). The insert seat size is 12, placing this tip in compatible HCP-IQ series drill bodies with the corresponding seat. The web-thinned geometry reduces thrust load at entry and supports cleaner hole initiation without a center punch in many setups.
Designed for use with HCP-IQ series indexable drill bodies requiring an insert seat size 12. ISO number reference is HCP 128-IQ. Coolant-through bodies are not required, as this tip does not support internal coolant delivery.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the drill body and spindle are fully de-energized and the machine is in a locked-out state before replacing the tip. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp screw as specified by the drill body manufacturer — do not use impact tools on clamping hardware. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the new tip to ensure proper contact and runout.
