The ISCAR 5567947 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the HCP-IQ series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in steel, cast iron, and secondary materials including stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The tip features a TiAlN PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition and carries the IC908 manufacturer grade on a submicron carbide substrate. The 139-degree included angle self-centers on entry, reducing the need for a pilot hole. With a cutting diameter of 0.441 inches and a functional length of 0.152 inches, this insert mounts into compatible HCP-IQ drill bodies and is replaced without removing the body from the spindle.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for CNC machining centers and drilling operations in job shop, production, and manufacturing environments. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron, with rated secondary capability in stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The slow spiral flute geometry and web-thinned point are optimized for deep-hole drilling applications where chip evacuation and point stability are critical. It is installed by machining professionals and CNC tooling technicians running ISO-standard tooling setups per ISO 13399.
Designed for use with HCP-IQ series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 11 and ISO number HCP 112-IQ. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K). Secondary materials include stainless steel (ISO M), super-alloys and titanium (ISO S), and hard materials (ISO H).
Replaceable tip drills of this type are installed and removed by tooling technicians using the twist-lock holding method specified by the tooling system — power the spindle down and confirm zero rotation before tip exchange. Seat contact surfaces should be inspected for chips or debris before seating the new tip, as contamination affects runout and tip retention. Follow the drill body manufacturer torque and engagement specifications for the HCP-IQ locking interface. Coolant-through is not supported on this tip; ensure coolant delivery method is compatible with the selected drill body before assembly.
