The ISCAR 5567658 is a carbide replaceable tip drill insert in the FCP series, designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Manufactured from solid carbide with a submicron grain material grade, this insert carries the IC908 manufacturer grade and features a TiAlN PVD coating for extended wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. It has a cutting diameter of 0.579 inches, a drill point angle of 140 degrees, and a flat-bottom style geometry with a thinned web point. Two spiral flutes in a slow-spiral configuration promote chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert as a direct replaceable tip in compatible FCP-series drill bodies.
This replaceable tip drill insert is intended for drilling operations in steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is rated for ISO material groups P and K as primary, with M, S, and H as secondary. The FCP series is used in production and job-shop environments where repeatable hole quality and insert changeability without full tool replacement are required. Typical applications include through-hole and flat-bottom drilling in machining centers and CNC lathes equipped with coolant-capable or dry-cutting setups.
Designed for use with ISCAR FCP-series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting insert seat size 14, ISO number FCP 147. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron (ISO P, K); secondary materials include stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO M, S, H).
This insert is installed and removed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician; always ensure the machine is fully de-energized and spindle is locked before changing inserts. Seat the insert using the twist-lock holding method specified for FCP-series bodies, and inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before installation. This insert does not include internal coolant-through capability, so external coolant or air blast should be directed at the cutting zone as required by the application. Follow the tool manufacturer torque and seating instructions provided with the drill body.
