The ISCAR 5567353 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the HCP-IQ series, designed for high-productivity drilling in steel, cast iron, and related ferrous materials. The tip is manufactured from submicron solid carbide, grade IC908, and carries a PVD-applied TiAlN coating for heat resistance and wear life in demanding cutting conditions. The drill features a self-centering 137-degree point angle, a slow spiral flute design, and a web-thinned geometry that reduces entry thrust. At 0.748 inches cutting diameter and 0.250 inches functional length, the replaceable tip format allows the body to be reused while only the worn cutting element is replaced, lowering tooling cost per hole.
This drill is applied in machining operations where the primary workpiece material is steel or cast iron, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The slow spiral and deep-hole style geometry suit applications requiring controlled chip evacuation in tougher cuts. The self-centering point eliminates the need for a center drill or pilot hole in most setups. It is used in CNC machining centers and turning centers by machinists running production or job-shop drilling programs. This is a single-tip insert sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 2 units.
Designed for use with HCP-IQ series replaceable tip drill bodies. ISO number HCP 190-IQ. Compatible with setups targeting steel (ISO material code P), cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H). Insert seat size is 19 mm. Verify body compatibility with the specific HCP-IQ shank before ordering.
Installation of replaceable tip inserts requires the appropriate HCP-IQ drill body and is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a stable holder before seating or removing the tip. The tip is held by a twist-locking method — follow the manufacturer torque and seating procedure for the specific body to ensure the tip is fully seated before cutting. Do not run the insert if the tip appears damaged, improperly seated, or if visible wear exceeds acceptable limits for the grade and material being cut.
