The ISCAR 5567349 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the HCP-IQ series, designed for high-productivity drilling in steel, cast iron, and related ferrous materials. The tip carries an IC908 submicron carbide grade with a TiAlN PVD coating, which supports extended tool life under demanding cutting conditions. The cutting diameter is 0.669 inches (16.99 mm), and the tip height is 0.390 inches (9.91 mm). The 135-degree self-centering point geometry eliminates the need for a center drill in most setups. Licensed HVAC technicians, machinists, and toolroom professionals working in production environments are the primary users of this insert style.
This replaceable tip drill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses where repeatable hole quality in steel and cast iron is required. The HCP-IQ series uses a twist-lock insert holding method, allowing tip replacement without removing the drill body from the spindle. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials, making this tip suitable for shops running mixed-material production. It conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards, which simplifies integration with CAM software and tool management systems.
Designed as a replaceable tip for HCP-IQ series drill bodies with an insert seat size of 17, ISO number HCP 170-IQ. Compatible with primary workpiece materials coded P (steel) and K (cast iron), and secondary materials coded M (stainless steel), S (super-alloys and titanium), and H (hard material).
Installation of replaceable carbide drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before handling the drill body or tip. Use the correct torque key specified for the HCP-IQ holding system to seat the tip securely — do not use improvised tools that may damage the twist-lock interface. Verify runout after seating the tip before beginning a production run.
